Mepis 7 Multimedia.

This is from....

Open synaptic
At top menu - Settings > Repositories

There is one already set-up for Debian Multimedia (deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org/ etc, etc). make sure it's ticked. If you haven't added the community repo yet - add that as new as well. The lines for the community repo are:

Binary (deb)
Url:> http://mepis.blue-pearls.net/repo/
Distribution:> mepis7cr
Section(s):> main non-free

Then click on OK. Then reload.

Now close synaptic - we'll do rest by command line.

Open konsole. Su to root.
Then copy and paste this line:
Quote:
apt-get install -f w32codecs libdvdcss2 dvdauthor dvdbackup dvdrip dvdrtools k9copy lame lame-extras libavifile-0.7c2 libdvdnav4 libdvdplay0 mencoder qdvdauthor transcode vamps ogmtools rar-2.80 avifile-player avifile-utils avifile-mad-plugin avifile-mjpeg-plugin avifile-vorbis-plugin avifile-win32-plugin avifile-xvid-plugin avifile-divx-plugin libgtk2-perl-doc librsvg2-common libintl-xs-perl libjasper-runtime libdvdcss mplayer-doc mpeg2dec a52dec xvid4conf
This single line brings in all the goodies that allow me to listen to music, play DVD's, encode music, rip dvd's (my own )etc. Note that above is for 32b. 64b chokes on rar-2.80 and w32codecs.
